This 2-day course is taught by a NRA Certified | Duly Authorized Instructor includes all the required materials and instruction needed when applying for:

NY CCW Pistol Permit

NY S.A. Rifle License

Multi-state Pistol Permit - Utah & Florida  (additional fee)

The course is instructed, over 2 days in the classroom and 2 hours in the Range.

You do not need to a pistol permit or a handgun, this course includes all and will exceed the minimum standard requirements when applying for the NYS CCW Pistol permit , Semi-Automatic Rifle License or multi-state permit.

County Certificate acceptance: It is recommended that you check with your county clerk's office for specific approval/acceptance of this course curriculum prior to your scheduling your appointment. 

We will not be held responsible for the acceptance of this certificate or your county requirements.  This course is NON REFUNDABLE and there are NO REFUNDS if this course is attended.

During the classroom sessions, you will learn about: 

• General firearm safety
• Firearm safe storage requirements
• State & Federal guns laws
• Concealed carry situational awareness of surroundings, including firearm display and concealment
• Conflict de-escalation tactics that include verbal and non-verbal strategies
• Adverse effects of alcohol and drugs uses as it pertains to firearm safety
• Best practices when encountering law enforcement
• Sensitive places listed in Penal law 265.01-e and the restrictions on firearm possession in restricted place under Penal law 265.01-d
• Conflict management
• Use of deadly physical force
• Suicide prevention including recognizing signs of suicide risk and resources to obtain assistance
• Basic principles of marksmanship, including stance, grip,  sight alignment, sight picture, breathing, and trigger control

Written Proficiency Test:

Following completion of the 16 hour classroom instruction each student must demonstrate proficiency by achieving a minimum correct answer score of 80% on a written test covering the course curriculum.

Live-Fire Training Curriculum:

• Range safety
• Safe drawing, target acquisition, and re-holstering
• dry firing
• Safe loading and unloading of ammunition
• Performing a firearm condition check, and how to achieve and verify a safe and empty firearm condition
• Safely discharging the firearm. 

Live-Fire Proficiency Assessment:

• Following completion of the 2 hour live fire training, each student must demonstrate proficiency by successfully completing a live-fire assessment.
