The Axe Caliber is Troy, N.Y.'s first Indoor Axe Throwing Club with 8 lanes designed for axe throwing games, axe throwing lessons, team building events, birthday parties, and other special occasions.

Age requirements

Guests must be 18 years or older to participate and must provide a valid ID. 


Minors between the ages of 13-17 must be accompanied by a person 21 years of older, who will be responsible for the minor as outlined in our waiver.   


To ensure your child's safety and the safety of others we may determine if they are unable to handle the axe.  We have other options if that's the case.  


No children under the ages of 13 allowed to participate. 

No experience required

Our on-site axe-perts are equipped to train and coach anyone of any skill level on how to throw axes, stay on top of  safety protocols, and play a variety of fun games. 

What to bring

Food

Feel free to bring your own munchies and snacks.     


We also allow outside catering so you can feed those hungry axe-throwers while they play!   

Beverages

You are welcome to bring in your own Non-alcoholic beverages.

What to wear

Closed toe shoes

Closed-toe footwear is a must.  

No sandals, flip flops or high heels. 

Be comfortable

Axe throwing is a workout.  Make sure whatever you are are wearing, you are comfortable and ready to move.

Walk-ins

Walk-ins are welcome during regular business hours but are subject to availability. 

Non-Throwers

There is no charge for Spectators.

up to 2 guests per lane

1| hour

$20| pp

up to 2 guests per lane

2 | hours

$35| pp

up to 2 guests per lane

Additional Guests per Lane

$10| pp

How to score in Axe throwing

World Axe Throwing League (WATL)

The most common type of game style in axe throwing is league style, which stems from the World Axe Throwing League (WATL). It’s similar to bowling in the sense that the highest score achieved after ten rounds, wins!


Here is how you earn your score:

  • 6 points for the bullseye
  • 4 points for the second ring
  • 3 points for the third ring
  • 2 points for the fourth ring
  • 1 point for the fifth ring
  • 8 points for the blue dots*


Blue Dots

The blue dots are also known as the ‘kill shot’ are only available on the tenth and final throw of the match. Otherwise, the blue dots are worth only one point.


If your axe lands anywhere outside the rings, then you are awarded no points.
